The Ministry of Environment and The UN Environment program West Asia office concluded the Regional Symposium on Combating Air Pollution of Black Carbon , which was launched on 26th March in Amman, the concluded of the workshop was by distributed the certificates of attendance for the attendee by representatives from 8 Arab countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Palestine and Lebanon, in addition to Jordan representatives from government ministries , international organization, universities, non-governmental organization and privet sector, which has been continued for two days
The symposium was organized under Supporting National Action and Planning on Short Lived Climate Pollutants project SNAP on SLCPs at the Ministry of Environment in cooperation with UN Environment program West Asia office and Climate and Clean Air Coalition CCAC.
The main objective of the symposium is to review the updates about the research status related to BC as well as raise the awareness of Black Carbon impacts on Health and Climate Change and to show Jordan as a success story in implemented one of the CCAC initiatives "SNAP initiative” to attract the governments of the MENA Region to Join the CCAC and to spend more efforts on Black Carbon Mitigation.
