Ministry of Environment and UNDP Jordan Strengthen National Coordination to Finalize Jordan’s NDC 3.0 Update

The Ministry of Environment, in collaboration with UNDP Jordan, convened a meeting of the National High-Level Climate Change Committee (NCCC) under the Green Climate Fund -funded NDC 3.0 Readiness Project to review progress on updating Jordan's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0). Chaired by H.E. the Minister of Environment and attended by UNDP Jordan's Resident Representative, the meeting brought together Secretaries General from more than 15 ministries and national institutions, alongside development partners and technical experts, to review mitigation and adaptation progress as a step toward finalizing Jordan’s NDC 3.0 in a manner that reflects national priorities and enhances the country’s readiness to implement its climate commitments.

The Ministry of Environment also presented the key outcomes of the Subsidiary Body for Climate Change meeting held in Bonn, as part of Jordan's preparations for the upcoming Conference of the Parties (COP) to be held in Antalya, Türkiye. The Ministry called on partner ministries to prepare their participating teams and sectoral portfolios—including technical needs and opportunities to join international initiatives—to strengthen the Jordanian delegation and support the development of a unified national position paper for the upcoming climate negotiations.
